What you need to set the table: (1 per guest)

  • Side Plates
  • Main Course Knives and Forks
  • Butter Knives
  • Napkins
  • Water Glasses
  • Wine Glasses
What you need to decorate the table:
  • 4 Rectangular Place mats
  • 4 Round Place mats
  • 3 Candlesticks and Tapered Candles
  • 8 Square Paper Napkins (2 per guest)

THE SETTING
Place the rectangular place mat on the table portrait style
Add the circular place mat on top, close to the edge of the table.

Position Dinner Plate in the centre of the circular place mat.

Take a square paper napkin, place it on the dinner plate, so it represents a diamond. With one corner, at the 12 o'clock of the dinner plate.

Now place the side plate on top of the napkin.

Take the 2nd square paper napkin, fold in half to make a rectangle.
Now fold it in half again, to make a small square.
Place this small square on the side plate. Once again, with a corner at the 12 o'clock of the side plate.

Place the butter knife in the middle of the side plate, with the serrated knife edge facing to the left
Now place the fork at the top of the circular place mat, pointing towards the right.
Then position the main knife above the fork, blade facing downwards, and pointing towards the left.
(See Aerial view at the end)

Take the wine glass, and place it at the top of the rectangular place mat, slightly to the right of centre. Position the water glass to the left of the wine glass.
